Things I treasure

are from those that mean the most in my life! Thank you and back at you! You had my favorite colored tissue and my favorite candy minus the butterfinger(you probably kept it for yourself)! You are the best you should of included some tissue right on top cause you know you had me in tears! I LOVE YOU I don't know what I would do with out you! You are one crafty Momma!

Oh Christmas Tree

We have a real tree this year it smells so good, but drinks a lot. We are not used to having to worry about that, I hope it makes it till Christmas. It went three days with just lights and I couldn't wait to make it into a hallmark tree. I could not believe how many "special" ornaments we have. (I did limit the use of mickey ones) well I guess it just seemed like we had a lot due to us only decorating a third of the tree. In years past we have used our rotating tree stand but this year the tree wouldn't fit so we are back to the boring standard one. We bought the best one we could find (the display model)and it didn't fit in the house. We had to cut a foot off of it and it was so big around that it didn't fit in front of the window like years past. This year it is in the dinning room which is open to the living room so it works out great cause with all these needles I don't have to pull out the sweeper a broom works just fine.
As you see in the picture there is one lone present under there and B will not stop asking questions. Who is it for? Will it be the best present I get? Can I open it early? Man now I know why Steve doesn't like to put the presents under there till X-mas eve. As a kid we always had presents under the tree it looks so nice with all the pretty wrappings. Is it only my kid that can't wait! She acts like she is deprived! We also don't have gifts for our out of state families so that would make up for a lot of pretty boxes.
Now on a more serious note.......oh to be young again. Last week the day we got the tree. Steve and I got it while B was in school so we took her the house key just in case we didn't get back in time. Which we didn't she was home alone for a hour. I walked in the house and she is in her room. She walks out crying and I ask her if she was scared. She says "No, I'm sad" why I ask. And with B it is NEVER a straight answer. "I lost something" what I ask. "It doesn't mean anything to you only me" Okay what is it I ask again. By then I'm getting mad just tell me! "A ring" she says. And at that point I'm think whats knew she is always loosing earrings so why not a ring.(NOTE: I buy all of B's jewelry at Clair's off the clearance rack 10 items for 5$ so loosing them is NO big deal) that's why I buy from there cause I know she is bound to loose something.
Anyways back to the story...... What ring the ring off the key chain? I could not think of a ring cause although she has some she never wears them. "No someone gave it to me". She realized she lost it while she was walking home from the bus. It was on the key ring and when she was trying to get the key ring off her bag it fell off. Why wasn't she wearing it, why wasn't it in her pocket, why didn't she put it in her bag? These are all questions I asked. It was to big for her finger, it hurt her while in her pocket. yadda yadda yadda. So when she realized it she looked for it and she asked her friend to help her with no luck. By the time we got home it was dark out but when I realized who it was that gave it to her (her boyfriend cause you know she never said) being a girl I just knew. I took her up the road and with flash lights we tried to look for it with no luck. I told her if she wanted to not ride the bus we could look for it in the morning when the sun comes up. So off we go in the morning to look for the ring and I am happy to say we found it nowhere near where we looked the night before! It got ran over (our road is chip and seal so nothing but little rocks basically) and it wasn't much of a ring. I was able to re bend it with pliers I carry in my car just in case. It isn't perfect but its better than nothing. She is now wearing it around her neck. I told her if he asks what happened to it tell him the truth. Like I said to be young again! LOL I'm afraid of what the future holds with this girl! Nothing but DRAMA at 10!
Friday night B was at a birthday party so Steve took me to the movies, for my birthday I got to pick the movie! We saw 4 Christmases, it wasn't that good but better then seeing the other choice James Bond, in my book. It was nice to get out just the two of us, and it was even nicer when he put his arm around me awwwww! He just doesn't do that kind of thing! So I Cherish every little thing.
Well for me not writing for a couple weeks I sure made up for it today!

What a gloomy day

Snow is in the forecast yes I said snow! It really puts me in the mood to sit in front of a fire and read a book. But I guess sitting in front of a PC reading secrets will do. I am home alone and it is kind of refreshing but lonely at the same time. I get a lot done when no one is around.
If someone would of helped me get down the Christmas decorations I would have something to do right now. I hate sitting that is all I do any more. B woke me up early then the power went out. My house is clean and the laundry is done. WOW I'm on top of my game! Now I know why I leave things for days cause it gives me something to do. I need a hobby bad any suggestions!
I'm so bored I'm just talking to talk so I'm going to go before I drive everyone crazy.

I'm Thankful......

that I made it through the day. I am starting to feel better, I at least got to taste the little bit of food I ate. The day didn't turn out the way I wanted but does it ever! There were no traditions here unless I started a new one. I made my first turkey with what started to be all the trimmings but I soon found out it was just B and I eating so it was mashed potatoes and green beans. The pie I didn't think would be ready to eat last night but at 8:30 we were able to have a slice. All in all I was blessed to spend my dinner with the one person that will always mean the most in my life.
The holidays are the worst for me. I hear the hurt in my Moms voice and there is nothing I can do, the sadness just takes over. All the closeness and traditions of my childhood are no longer.
I told my Mom she needs to spend Christmas with me this year (but I know that won't happen).
Today is black Friday and that means nothing to me! While all those people are out in the cold standing in line I was in my warm bed. Today I am going to work on getting me Christmas decorations up and try to make my home look happy even if its not!

Laughter is just what I need

This one is for everyone who...
a) has kids
b) had kids
c) was a kid
d) knows a kid
e) is going to have kids.
I guess that means all of us!!

DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS

I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said,'Daddy, look at this' , and stuck out two of her fingers. Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said, 'Daddy's gonna eat your fingers,' pretending to eat them. I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face. I said, 'What's wrong, honey?' She replied, 'What happened to my booger?'

DEER MEAT..........

A man kills a deer and takes it home to cook for dinner. Both he and his wife decide that they won't tell the kids what kind Of meat it is, but will give them a clue and let them guess. The kids were eager to know what the meat was on their plates, so They begged their dad for the clue. Well, he said, 'It's what mommy calls me sometimes'. The little girl screams to her brother... 'Don't eat it, it's an asshole..

thought it was fitting

What a weekend. So you got to see the meat before and you will soon see what it looks like after. You'll have to wait cause I forgot to take the picture. There really wasn't much planing in this hunting thing. We were not prepared to have lbs of meat to have to de-bone and clean nor was football taken into consideration. Topping it off with me volunteering to watch 2 kids. Oh I forget that is everyday life for most people, for me it's havoc! Steve was up at the butt crack of dawn so we were up at the time.(what ever happened to my day off) So knowing the kids are coming over at 2:00 we had some running to do. Those super cute boots B was wearing to the dance well the lining was pulling out from under the soles and were bunched up in the toe area so we needed to exchange those. After convincing B it was ok to let the boots go even though they held the memories of her first school dance. (she probably dance with her BF in them) We headed to the store which for us is a half day event! (remember its a 35 min ride each way) We made it home by 1:00 and Steve was already back with no luck THANK goodness. I'm just not ready for more meat yet I would like to have my kitchen back. The kids came about 1:30 and from there it was nothing but fun! Steve wanted to take a nap due to the lack of sleep for the past three days. The game started at 3:15 and it was mine vs his no more needs to be said. Of course he rolled out of bed right after the big catch. We did good but I did warn the kids we get a little rowdy for football. After our bellies were full and the kids were gone. It was back to the task of deer meat. Steve wants to teach me how to cut it but if I learn I'm stuck helping. I think my job as package labeling is just fine. Sorry I have to take a break to be continued......

Any one hungry

Good thing I didn't take anything out for dinner, we had fresh meat (and it wasn't the tube kind)! Steve was busy working all day and we got to relish the rewards! So one down and hopefully within these 10 days more to come.

Two big things with in 24 hours

Friday night was just another reminder of the fact that........my "baby" is growing up. It was the first school dance. Oh the memories......it's times like these that I can think back to my child hood, I on the other hand had a partner in crime my from the beginning to the end BCFL! I wish B had been closer with her cousins although 17,16,15,12 & 8,8, 2 and 4 months aren't exactly in her grade level lol. I miss the days of having someone by your side no matter what! Anyways back to the dance......when we first moved here and B started school in Jan 06 she was in the 2ND grade. Erika was the first friend she made and the first house that she ever stayed the night at! So why not go to the first dance together. B stayed the night with Erika so I'm excited to see how it was, you know at this age the BF/GF thing starts to happen.
Now for today it is opening day for rifle! You know what that means "We interrupt this marriage for deer season". Which is fine by me cause I get to enjoy the rewards the meat! Steve makes some really good jerky, but in order to get the meat we need to get the deer lol. Steve is out there as we speak. He hasn't been feeling well his arthritis is flaring up but I know he will fight through it, he has waited for this day for a year, and his mouth is watering. He was able to barrow a bow from the neighbor so he can hunt bow till Jan. which this year we made friends with a couple that own a nursery. Steve is able to hunt their land bow only, which they say is full of deer. Well what do you know I hear a four wheeler outside. BRB We have a buck! Listen to me We like I stood in the freezing woods for the last 4 hours. Steve is off cleaning it and it looks like we have a job to do so I must wrap it up........so much for a relaxing Saturday, It's well worth it!

We have babies

that is. B had to have these when we made a trip to Ohio in Aug. I thought to myself 9.99 for this, is it going to work? I never had Sea Monkeys before let alone see them in the store. Leave it to Mal*Mart! (her dad had some when he was younger). As you may have guessed B is no longer interested in them and they are our pets. They just sit on the bay window in the kitchen but they do need to eat every other day. Once they hatched originally we had at least 20 or so now we are down to 9 I think it is, but we have babies 4 for now. That was the first question B asked when we put it together "will they have babies" and of course & I said NO! Silly Mom don't know jack about Sea Monkeys! One day I looked they were hooked together swimming around, Steve thought they were dead and eating one another. The parents are about the size of my pinkie nail (I'm a nail bitter) you can see the eyes and spine they are actually really neat to watch. So if you don't have anything better to do than feed some additional monkeys I recommend everyone having some. Although they don't always work (sorry DDL)

I still have my junk...

sitting in the garage! You guessed it there was No garage sale lets just say MEN! Sherry has Thursday and Friday off so weather permitting that's what we are shooting for. It is raining as I type and only about in the 30's! Over the weekend I worked with B & one of her friends to get the stuff out of the attic. There really wasn't as much as I thought. But we did end up with quite a bit of stuff for this sale just wish me luck because I don't wan to bring it back!
Friday was Steve's infusion so that's my day to go shopping. I was able to pick up a couple things B had marked in her wish book. I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. We are so not ready for it! WE will be spending the holidays at home this year. Nice and quiet well (Tandler quiet) Lol and warm! I wish we could top that off with a nice fire. So easy for me it's gift cards all around.
For those of you that don't know this weekend is opening day for riffle season, so cross your fingers that we get some deer. Things aren't looking good for Steve physically right now but I know he will tough it out!
Yesterday we spend the evening cheering on the teams and I had more love for the chargers so the Steelers lost of course. I ate so many wings....they were so good I couldn't stop! I could live my life on some buffalo wings! So I can't eat for a couple days lol. well I should go check on Steve and see how the dog house is coming along. Tomorrow I'm thinking adobo chicken mmmmm

Nothing like putting things off

So a friend of mine suggested we have a garage sale. Mind you this was like a month ago that we talked about it. Well this weekend is the weekend and what do you know I haven't done a thing to get ready! They will be here tomorrow to pick up my junk so I don't have to make numerous trips to their house in my tiny car. I didn't realize just how much stuff we had. So it looks like we will only have a half of a garage sale lol. I forgot Steve has is monthly infusion on Friday so needless to say we will not be there that day to help out. It just makes things a little more hectic. We will be leaving a man in charge for that day cause my friend has to work. Oh what adventures lie ahead. So it looks like tomorrow I will be busy trying to price everything. I just hope Steve is able to help because today he wasn't moving to well. I think next time I will NOT wait till the last min to do such a big job for one person.

No school today

So the kiddo was out of school due to elections, so we thought it would be a good day to catch a movie what other than High School Musical 3! We dropped Dad off at the lake to fish and we went and enjoyed $8.50 worth of popcorn and pop (free refills). We even brought some home for later mmmmmmm. Dad fished for 4 1/2 hours and caught 3 bitty fish, but I guess it was more about being outside enjoying our 78 weather and not having to watch HSM3 (good thing we weren't counting on him to provide dinner). Now is all about who will be our next president.

Yay I'm finally hip!

One of my favorite people told me about blogging, so I thought I would give it a try. Tonight's weather is great for cuddling up with the one you love to watch some football. Especially now that we have a couch! I hope the Steelers win cause I'm not in the mood to hear it. So off I go to enjoy the game. I look forward to having something to do each day. Till next time.....
